Like many on this forum I have a few watches but I always come back to one, wear it the most, think of it the most (oh dear!!) and almost feel everything is right again when I put it on! I bought a new watch on Friday, one I have been after for a while and after a great weekend wearing it, I am back with 'my old trusty' again this week.

Interestingly, its not even the most expensive watch either (IWC Aquatimer 3538 Titanium), but it just feels so right.

So...

Anyone else feel the same, and if so what with... or do I need help?

I bought a Rolex GMT plexiglass 25 years ago.

I've been lucky enough to have purchased some much much "better" watches since then some of which get some wrist-time for a few days...... then it's back to the old GMT smokin

My B&R 01-92.

I'm wearing the phantom so much, I'm thinking I'm going to have to get a normal one as a 'beater'...

For me it's my Hamilton Riva, though I do have a hankering for a B&R BR01-96...

Easy - my Rolex Sea Dweller. The best watch I've owned. The others are stunning in their own right but if I had to make a choice of a 'watch for life' there is only one that I know would cope with everything and never let me down.

You could have taken the words out of my mouth / keyboard. Even though I've just scored an IWC 3536-01 I'm sure I'd sell that before the SD if push came to shove.

For me, would have to be my Seamaster - pictured here with my most recent edition, my Planet Ocean. It has been all over the world with me and have been forbidden by Mrs Bond from every selling it.

Andy I'll take the 3536 if you need too wink. Can I ask where you bought it as it looked in superb condition, almost new old stock?

IWC Spitfire chrono. Doesn't shout at the world, is comfortable (most important) and I just love it. But then of course there are the others I think about...........

I bought it from a collector from Singapore through http://forums.watchuseek.com/ He'd almost never worn it. I'm determined to keep it nice (as with all my watches) but I wear them all - no safe queens in my small collection.

GMT Master II I bought 10yrs ago. Looking scruffy now (never had it serviced!) but have formed a 'bond' with it.

It is perfect. However for me the Speedie pro that I bought from you 18 months ago is the keeper. It is a perfect design, and the watch is a personal memento of a very dear relative, so it'll never be sold. If I have a son I might let him have it on his wedding day, but only if he's demonstrated an ability to cherish it as much as I do.

Just got my explorer II back from a service and I swear they have just sent me a new watch - 400 notes (incl new crystal) but it's imaculate.
