Other half wants to buy me a watch, which is nice! Had initially thought about a bargain from Werners like the ever popular V2 Lux Flight Chrono...

For the budget I can have two of these, but through the wonders of internet shopping I can get a Tissot PRC200, which although not having known anything about until tonight I really like the look of, for less than £200...

Opinions and suggestions welcome.

I really like the PRC 200- I tried one on today and would have probably bought it had I not asked for a Tag Heuer Carrera chrono to compare it to. If it were a little bigger, I dont think even that would have mattered. Lovely watch. smile

I have the PRC200 (IIRC) without a chrono on a black leather strap, very nice - a little too small I think on me though.

Positive thoughts, I've found some lovely pics on the tz forums so I'm going to see it on the high st today. As you lot said, I'm concerned about is the size, website says 40mm and my Lotus watch is 45mm afaik.

Just got to stay away from the jewellers with the expensive toys.

There are some lovely pictures of the PRC200 in this thread, although with a different strap...

Went to try it on and as you lot said, it does look ever so slightly on the small side, but it is very nice. Liked it a lot.

One of the high street chains refused to do any sort of deal 'on watches below £500' so a little hunting found a small and slightly grotty looking jewellers that were more than happy of the business. Got to wait for it though as they only had the display one.

I bought a PRC200 on a black leather strap last year - it's a great watch and it was my daily watch until very recently. Looks far more expensive than it is!

Just got a PRC200 as per the original photo last week as a daily wear and I'm pleased with it.

Decent watch for the price with a nice strap mechanism. Mid-sized watches suit me best anyway so doesn't look too small on me. Unstand why people are saying that though.

Thumbs up to Watch Shop UK, ordered it at 4.30pm on Thursday on a bit of a whim and it arrived midday Friday. cool

I read a few complaints about the strap being fiddly on the amazon reviews, but it seemed fine to me.

The watch shop, watch hut and amazon market place were all similar prices, ie £35 less than the high street jewellers. The jewellers I bought from are somehow part of the watch hut, so I got an excellent price.

Did consider a Seiko Sportura which looked a little busy to me (reminded me of the red and black version of the RX8 interior!) but was more money.

Looking like that, I'd go for the Tissot.

The Sportura? Yeah, in a blokish kind of way I like it, but subtle it is not...

I find my Lotus Type One watch a little flashy, the Seiko is that and then some!
