I finally gave in yesterday and bought a 2006 Seamaster Professional Chronometer. I bought it off Ebay, I wasn't really planning to buy from Ebay but the seller seemed ok. It has original box all the cards, instructions and original proof of purchase from beaverbrooks.
The watch is too far away for me to go and meet him and take it to a watch specialist for inspection, I do have the reference number and the watch number. Is there any more I can find out from these to put my mind at ease? I will not be receiving the watch until Thursday or Friday. It was bought through Paypal but i'm unsure if that will give me much protection.

Cheers,

Ed.

(Sorry, put Speedmaster in the title, it is a Seamaster.)

The seller has been a member for 8 years and has 100% feedback so fingers crossed I guess. He has sold the watch as he wants to upgrade.
