Is this too chavvy?
Discussion
My brother is starting his new graduate's job at an accountancy firm and I wanted to get him a watch as a present.
Trouble is my sister says he likes this http://tinyurl.com/nr5u85
My own view is that it is a bit of a chavvy watch but he might be able to get away with it as he is only 23. What do you guys think?

Why buy a watch with a 'brand' nailed on to it, why not buy one thats from a watch maker eg omega, TAG, etc
Er... £1500? Th eonly problem with these as being primarily a fashion brand they don't stock spares so if you get attached to it ( A friend of mine got one for his 21st) and in 5 years want to get it reconditioned you can't. No new glass available etc. Not my style, but not too chavvy either. Cheaper here though http://www.onlyapony.com/catalogue/men_watches_cat...
Personally, for that amount of money, i'd get him a nice Seiko - MUCH better quality, movement etc
E.g. the SKX009

Much nice IMO

Or a Seiko 5 Diver: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&i...
Lets face it, the lad wants it because it looks good and has Armani on it, and he probably thinks that Armani are the dogs, and they may be in their sector, but I should imagine bar under the label, better quality could be found for half the money. So suggesting a CW is almost pointless in this case IMO

You're almost certainly right, but you've gotta try.CommanderJameson said:
