Never understood the point of it myself. The whole reason why Doxa and Rolex way back in the day put the HEV other on the other side of the case is its supposed to be automatic. Surely a manual HEV is just the crown?

Of course the really clever thing is to either glue the crystal down really well like IWC did on the 3536 aquatimer or have another method of retaining the crystal that stops it popping out [screw down?].

I would really like a 42mm PO myself, really lovely watch but at the end of a long wish list for me unfortunately and no money to work through this list. Oh well.
