Fancy a cheapish watch - but something nice? Newbie!

I've got one. Had a few problems with my last Werners so settled for a modest Tissot. Excellent quality. Presented in beautiful packaging. Seems to be hard wearing too. Quite deep - I've got skinny wrists - but I love it.Altrezia said:
Well, I finally bought my new watch.
I really like the look of the Tissot's, but wasn't sure which model - some are too fussy, and some not fussy enough.. I decided on a nice Automatic jobby, a PRS 516. It's fussy, but not overly so like a Seiko. It's heavy, but not too heavy.
So, here's a couple of pants pics (and one stock photo).
I was looking at this one with the black face against Christopher Ward and Vostok K3 and I think those pictures have persuaded me to go for it, how much did it set you back out of interest?I really like the look of the Tissot's, but wasn't sure which model - some are too fussy, and some not fussy enough.. Also did you have to message south devon or did they have them in stock?
Thanks

Hi all. I was actually just about to start a thread very similar to this!
I've been given an (approx!) budget of £200 to get myself a watch for my birthday. I tend to either love or hate things when buying, and watches seem no different. This is what I've found:
http://www.thewatchhut.co.uk/the-watch-hut/tissot/...
I think it's really elegant, at the same time being just geeky enough for me
I have a couple of questions though. Firstly, how hard wearing would a watch like this be? I'd quite like to be able to wear it for work. I'm an engineer and do spend some time scrabbling about under cars, but don't tend to 'do' messy/oily work! Secondly, has anyone ever dealt with the shop linked above? If so, does anyone have any good/bad feedback?
Any advice would be welcome, I'm a watch novice!

I'm by no way a watch expert, but I have a Tissot from 1970 and it's still going!I've been given an (approx!) budget of £200 to get myself a watch for my birthday. I tend to either love or hate things when buying, and watches seem no different. This is what I've found:

Back then, they were known for making rugged tough watches and have a very long pedigree.
Style is a very personal thing, so if that watch does it for you, then go get it!
I prefer the PR range myself, the one above PRS516 may be my next buy.
But this one is just so tempting!
