How much for the blue LRG. Is it as new? With LRG packaging etc?

My first G Shock smile would have gone for one with analogue dials but when a solar one was available for under £50 I couldn't resist... biggrin

Can any of you G Shock experts help me trace a watch?
I used to " borrow " my brothers G, and I'm guessing it was around 1987/1999. All I can remember was that it was black, with a black rubber strap. I think it also had a blue backlight. Anyone got any ideas?

Thank you Cirian. It was definitely a square face ( as opposed to round ) and was all digital.
I think your right , either a dw 5000 or 5600.
Is eBay the best place to look for another?

Thanks again.

Can a PHer please help me source a G-Shock. I thought I had found my perfect all purpose sports watch (5610) with the features I needed (solar powered, multi band to keep time across the world and an understated retro square face with easy to read digital readout).

Unfortunately I had not realised the multi-band is not appropriate for all time zones and as I tend to travel to the Middle East a lot, I don't think it'll meet my needs.

So I guess what I really need is GPS instead of radio receiver. The 5610 is around £90 - do Casio make a G-Shock at this price level with GPS time updates and solar power? A square digital face would be ideal but I guess I may not have the luxury of choice.

You'll have to multiply your budget by a factor of 8.

I wasn't expecting that. Odd that a function that can be incorporated into a cheap phone or portable sat nav should be so expensive in a watch.

I guess I will have to rely on good old fashioned manual adjustment when I move time zones.

I think the only ones they have with GPS are the 'GPW'1000' range which are approx £600 - £800. I agree you think it'd be cheaper. I assume they keep it only for the high models to get people to buy more expensive models. I do like them

Phones cost £100s though, they just subsidise them
