Just brought this back from the dead and gave it a little refresh. New rechargeable battery, o-ring and a NATO strap. I’m really pleased with how it came out.

Latest edition for Father’s Day off the daughter ... GA-400SK-1A4ER, SUPER CLEAR SKELETON SERIES

Looks great on the wrist too and the smoked jelly strap and case look ace. Love it!

That looks great, I might get one as a "gym watch".

I just ordered this for daily use...

I'm very pleased with mine. smile

And I love the black version above too... One gripe: The strap keeper seems to forever slide itself off the strap in daily use. I've not had this with a watch before, I don't know why it happens!

Any recommendations for one with a big display - my old man needs something easy to read and most I see need a magnifying glass to read the time.

So far only the pro-treks seem to be close - no G-shocks that I can find ?

A few days old and perfect as an everyday

Which model is it
GW-M5610-1ER.
I bought one of these to wear everyday after I dropped and smashed my sub. I had an older large g shock but I just couldn't get on with wearing it everyday due to the size.

My old protrek had the biggest display I have ever had. It was a titanium version and have to say it was incredibly tough.

My favourite G-Shock, the unnecessarily over-engineered GW-5000; bought it about a couple of years ago or so from chinowatch - the squares really are so versatile.

Has anybody purchased the new Mudmaster GG-B100 yet? I have to say for its functions, looks, and price its pretty much the perfect G shock.

I say pretty much as there is a but...... No solar and a battery life of only 1.5 to 2 years but I am still pretty sure I will overlook this downside.

So I've come crawling back to this thread again... decided I need a white G-shock in my life. Ideally gloss and ideally square.

GWX-5600C-7

GLX5600-7 G-Lide

GW-M5610MD-7JF

DW-5600SL-7

Anyone have any experience of any of these? I'm a bit concerned about the longevity of the finish, but I guess we aren't talking big money.
Have I missed any other options? I'm not yet sure if all of these are easy to source in the UK, but that's a minor detail laugh

I have a high gloss white regular shape and the white does scratch off if grazed so if be concerned if it was also white patterned. On the plus side the resin underneath the paint is an off white so scratches aren't massively noticeable

My mrs has asked me what I want for Christmas, so what better time to get my first G Shock?

I don’t want to go over 100-200 quid really, I’d like something with tough solar and multiband 6, but also a positive display..

Found this, okay doesn’t have positive display but hands to tell the time so should be fine, I’ve seen the blue accented model has a +ve display but would rather black:

GAW-100B

Also seen the square with solar and radio... not 100% sold on that one although I do often wear a F91-W as it’s so comfortable, maybe a nice upgrade...

Any of you guys better versed on G Shocks know of anything else that fits the bill? I can’t seem to find much else! There are loads of G’s that I have an irrational want for, but I’m after a weekday daily for work and like the idea of no battery changing etc.

Cheers

5610 for sure, cleanest and truest to the original G Shock design.
Have a 5610 myself albeit in a different colourway and it has become my go to travel/mucky work watch.

The GST-W300-1AER has the same module but with positive display, however the case is partly steel rather than all black.

On another note, I have the all steel GST-S110D-1A with the same module with negative display and I never really have any issue reading the displays, and in the dark you can obviously use the light

Slightly over budget but many consider the ultimate (affordable) square to be the GW-5000-1JF. It is Japanese market only but they are readily available on eBay - https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2...

I’ve just picked up another having purchased and sold a few over the years.
