Mrs Cjelli and I had been struggling to work out what to buy our 16 year old son for Christmas.
As an impulse buy on Black Friday, we picked up a g shock GA-2100-1A1ER with 30% off for him. Not his only present.
Now I’m concerned he is going to turn his nose up at it. He’s a brand obsessed teenager, and he won’t appreciate the g shock cachet. We’ve looked in the windows of watch shops and he is aware of all the big names.
In teen friendly terms, give me a sales pitch I can give him to try and minimise his, and subsequently, our disappointment.

Tell him his present is under the nearside front wheel of your car.Sounds like the teenager in question needs a reality check tbh, oh wait a minute that's just part of being a teenager these days
In all seriousness if he is disappointing and I bought it for him I would just say "that's obviously not up to your standards I will take it back" there would not be a replacement of any kind.

My 21 year old son is very picky when it comes to watches. He likes the minimalist look with an absolute minimum of sub dials and features. I've tried a few times to get him into G-Shocks with no luck. I've got him a black Swatch instead. As an impulse buy on Black Friday, we picked up a g shock GA-2100-1A1ER with 30% off for him. Tell him that it's the start of a collection. Every watch collection needs a beater. Or that it's the watch of choice for most folk in the armed services.

I've just bought two G shocks recently, one being the classic square so not sure I could justify a 3rd...but I have to say that looks very clean and a crisp, great legibility too....not something I can say about all my G shocks.halfpenny43 said:
Just had these two delivered - better than I expected especially the Mudmaster
The bezel on the GBX has a textured feel to it. Really very nice.
So you pulled the trigger on the Mudmaster. I know we had discussed the price increase a few weeks/months ago on this thread. The bezel on the GBX has a textured feel to it. Really very nice.
Hope you're enjoying it.

Here is my little collection of Casio GMW-B5000
I have @TheJimi to thank for the red one and I promised him that I'd post a pic of them all together.
I just love these watches. I wear the silver one every day and the other two on special occasions.
Brilliant! Cracking trio, that I have @TheJimi to thank for the red one and I promised him that I'd post a pic of them all together.

Knew it was a Casioak but didn't know the exact designation for that model.
Are the colours quite vivid in the flesh? If so, I'm having that.
