I fell down the rabbit hole of hydro moded gshocks last night.

I love the increase in clarity.

Anybody done it? I gather it was a bit of a fad a few years ago, any long term downsides?

Updated my Gen1 casioak modded triple black with a new strap from AliExpress. Definitely more premium looking now, over the standard Casio strap.

GW-5000 for me, for the last 8 weeks or so. Bought it around a year ago and barely wore it - then started wearing if for our Easter holidays and haven't wanted to wear anything else since. The Seiko Monsters, Steeldive Willard, Squale 20 Atmos- all sitting in a drawer. I'm actively trying to fall down a G-Shock rabbit hole - but this is the only one I actually like. Even my old GWM5600BC gets no wear as I have come to find the negative display unusable.

Just had a look on Aliexpress, as well as straps, there are loads of watches similar to this on there. They can't be real surely!? never shopped on there. Is the strap decent quality? (I'm not suggesting yours isn't real though).

Can't quote on the authenticity of G-Shocks sold on Aliexpress but I buy watch build parts and accessories. I never buy movements or international brand watches (like G-Shock) from there. Only complete watches I have ever bought are brands like Pagani and the like.

Cheers, there's loads of stuff on there, its difficult to tell what's what! Some of the pagani and other homage watches look interesting. Tons of G-shock bits and bobs, I guess people customise and modify
