In which case, next time you're over THERE, ask him why all of a sudden my account was disabled!?
Behold, the magic clicky link that will put you in direct contact with him:Magic Clicky Link
I don't post a huge amount over on TZ but I like to get involved in the discussions and have bought and sold a few watches on the Sales Corner. Personally I have found it no more cliquey than any other forum really. As with most forums you take your time posting to start with and get a feel for the place. There are very few threads that go unanswered and there is very little of the sarcastic, personal sniping that you get regularly in General Gassing on here.
It's very different from PH in that 75% members don't argue just for the sake of arguing - this doesn't apply the watch section here obviously which is like a little PH oasis of calm
As for the thanking Eddie on the Sales Corning thing, why not? He provides the means to buy and sell watches free of charge and he gains no commercial gain from it.
Ultimately, if you don't like a forum, don't use it. bhing about it on other forums just seems a bit daft to me though.

Hopefully in the Forum world im sure many there are aware of the discussions going on here and will be reading and realising how much of a cock they sound !
Hmmm feel a bit of a cock now Having said that I only have about a dozen posts so not too sure if I'm guilty of too much cockness

It's just that I was recommended it by many off here, and it turned out to a very strange, contradictory place.
Yeah, fair enough. If the issue is something you feel strongly about then you've got to abide by your principles.Same as CommanderJameson, I tend to stick to the watch (and photography) sections.
I've only ever lurked around the shadows on TZ, never had any dealings myself with Eddie but to the casual observer it seems that TZ has more than its fair share of sycophantic idiots all too willing to add to an ever-expanding ego.
I like the place generally but someone needs to loosen up a bit.
Don't even get me started on the fking Dreadnought.

Ah, the mythical beast that is the Dreadnought.

Is this thread the quickest evocation of Godwins Law ever on PH?
I'm new to TZ and treading carefully. Not much I can add to threads, but its looking like I'm going to be picking something tasty up from the sales corner.
Whether you get it or not, be sure to thank Eddie for his forum, inventing the internet, unravelling the DNA code and his subsequent future discovery of a cure for cancer. I'm new to TZ and treading carefully. Not much I can add to threads, but its looking like I'm going to be picking something tasty up from the sales corner.

Not sure Godwin's Law applies to threads where the title explicitly references Nazis or old Adolf. It has to be used in argument, usually as a failed 'last word' in some random discussion.I'm new to TZ and treading carefully. And yet given the original inference that Eddie from TZ-UK was a Nazi (yep, I'm the first to explicitly state this), nobody has clearly broken Godwin's Law. So I will. Here you go - Eddie runs his forums like Adolf Hitler would, if Adolf was on teh intarweb (some say he still is, ya know).
Arrr.
Well, I went to join a US watch forum.
Are there any normal watch forums out there? Where you aren't looked down on because you can't afford to get a Rolex every 3 months?
Apparently, and you'll be shocked at this, a Tissot is not as good a watch as Rolex. No fooling. They are also around a 10th of the price.
I give up. There is worse snobbery in the watch world than anywhere else.

I like WatchUSeek. They've got forums for every sized wallet. I don't think it's at all snobby. Are there any normal watch forums out there? Where you aren't looked down on because you can't afford to get a Rolex every 3 months?

I don't tend to tell people what I have or what I can afford - but if people (ie not just 1 tosser) poured scorn on me for asking about any watch 'brand' I'd be off. OK, so Armani/calvin klein watches are fair game Are there any normal watch forums out there? Where you aren't looked down on because you can't afford to get a Rolex every 3 months?
