Today I picked up my first Sinn, a 656 S.

Went to pick the watch up from Neil at Chronomaster and enjoyed a good chat a nice cup of tea.

First impressions:

Amazed at the build quality. Feels like a very solid unit on the wrist and has already been noticed despite its simplicity and subtitle looks (IMHO). One concern I had with the watch before picking it up was the size of the date window however this was instantly put to rest, the date window is perfect for me, not intrusive on the face design and big enough for quick reference.

Wrist Shot - I have child's wrists despite my age so please be kind on the mickey taking.

I am not the best at taking photos. If anyone wants an image of a certain part of the watch let me know, I will do my best and post it up.

While picking up my watch I had chance to see a 756 UTC DIAPAL, fantastic, what a great looking watch. The contrast of metals on the face look brilliant. I was a little taken aback at the depth of the 756 but will certainly be considering a DIAPAL unit for my next Sinn.

Whilst I wouldn't choose black myself, that's damn nice.

Very nice choice! Could I ask you to take a photo of the watch with something else in the shot so I can get some idea of the size? I've toying with going for the silver version myself.

Yes, no trouble. I will take a picture next to an iPhone or something when I get home.

Thanks for all the comments. Really happy with it so far.

Perfect! I have an iPhone so that will be ideal to gauge the size. Otherwise I'd have to go to Jura as they seem to be the only stockist.

If you are ever in the Manchester area then I am sure Neil at Chronomaster would welcome a visit. He seemed like a very open and genuine chap, more than willing to show some watches.

I've seen the Chronomaster site and would normally go with a PH recommendation if it wasn't for the distance involved as I'm 'darn sarrff'! Jura is only 10 mins from work so it's a bit of a no brainer really!
I've been told by the Wife to hold off buying anything until after my birthday in a couple of week though.

I think Sinn make my favourite watches. I'll get one at some point. They look fantastic!

Also, you have girl arms.

Thanks, it takes time and effort to keep my arms look as wimpy and lame as this!

Lovely watch.

How resilient is that finish? Does it laugh off scuffs and scratches?

Oh, and this:

Nice choice, looks great! I bought my first Sinn too recently 856 UTC on bracelet - very pleased with it. Interested to read your comments re 765 Diapal, I was looking to get one of these initially but noticed that they're circa 15mm thick... opted for a more slimline version in the end but still think the 765 is a great looker.

Nice watch tho, great choice!

interesting to read your points about the depth of the 756. I was looking at a UTC version of that watch but was also put off by the depth of it. As you can see from manly wrists it would look stupid, great great looking watches though.

Just got back home so will do the picture tomorrow. Thanks

Nice watch.

I was looking at the DIAPAL 756 also. I think many of these 7750 watches are very thick. Look at Navitimers they have the same odd looking depth of case.

The 756s seem to look less odd on the wrist than they do in side on shots.

Well I'm hoping Sinn roll out DIAPAL out across the range. Neil said that it is currently available on the 756 and one other (?). I think it would look great on the 656 I have just purchased.
