A mate if mine collects Pulsar Spoon watches, predominantly bought on eBay - he's got about 40, some of them identical to one another!
Tell me he has a Spoon-tuned Honda... or is he just a fan of cutlery?
What? The fork!

That's not a collection, that's an indication of a condition.
hehe

The thing I'm trying to work out is that even if the guy was in his 70s and started in his early 20s (ie when he got his first full time job), how many watches would he have to buy a week to own 10,000? The answer is approximately 4. That means he could have spent Monday to Thursday lunchtimes watch shopping for 50 years. Wouldn't you get... bored?
I think you misread the post.
He opens with...

"As many people knows, i was hired by Richard Paige as a moderator 10 years ago, and i know my 10,000 posts are coming since we have a new forum soft in '03, i've decided to show you all of watches in my collection accumilated from over the years."

And goes on to summarise...

"So it was 44 row of 11 watches makes 484, plus a radio, 3 additional chronographs, and Fieldmater makes 488, and i forgot to add Grand Seiko reissue makes 489 total, and few more (including 2x 61 Grand Seikos) are in repairshop, so won't be long i shall reached 500 mark soon. I never realized i had that many myself."

500 is still quite obsessive, especially considering the number of similar Seiko....
