as the title really ive had the watch since july 06 and its been back 3 times and has gone wrong again, its now out of warrenty is there any way it can be reset or something short of using a 2lb club hammer

There have beena few shows on TV lately about getting you money back even if the goods are out of guarantee (TV's and white goods mostly). The fact that you guarantee has expired is irrelevant - the product is still covered under the sale of goods act. I believe that there are standard letters available - try the watchdog or moneysavingexpert sites.
