Morning chaps.

Been meaning to post this for a whole and finally got round to it.

I have an old Breitling Top Time. It looks a lot like this

but its knackered. Its on a non-original strap, the face is quite scratched and it doesn't work - at all. I can adjust the time but the winder will not wind and I'm afraid to be too heavy handed in case I break something.

I'm after someone who can take a look at it for me and let me know how much it might cost to repair? Any ideas? I'm base in Herts/Berks but don't mind travelling into London if I have to.

Many thanks.

Just to give you an idea...
My father's Omega was in a similar condition. Watches of Switzerland sent it back for appraisal and they quoted £200 (6 years ago) with a value of £600 once the work was complete (new face, fix corroded movement, renew strap, polish). My colleague had his Tag F1 quartz chrono repaired last month (face, movement) - £250, again through one of the high street watch retailers.

A few years ago I bought an Omega Dynamic (not auto) in Italy which was not in the best of shape. After keeping an eye on Ebay for a few weeks (set to worldwide) I was able to buy a new 'old stock' case from the States and take that to my local jeweller who fitted it along with a new second hand and a crown which he had ordered from Omega. Essentially the only items left from the original watch were the movement, bracelet and the watch face. From memory all of the parts and service were less than £120. And here she is....

Send it to Steve at Ryte Time Watch Repairs: http://www.rytetimewatchrepairs.co.uk/

He'll give you a quote and turn it round in no time, unlike most watchmakers ...
