After much deliberation over a Seamaster Pro, I decided I wanted something a bit more "formal" looking. Ideally, I'd have liked a new Aqua Terra but couldn't justify the spend at the moment so found this and it arrived this morning....

Granted, it is a quartz (1538 calibre) movement but I'm very happy with it and makes a nice start to a collection (don't let the Mrs see that!) wink

Now I want a nice brown / tan leather strap for it. Is it really worth sourcing / cost of a genuine Omega or is the likes of a Toshi the better way to go?

Nice, as far as straps are concerned, i would recommend going aftermarket. The Omega straps are incredibly expensive. It may be worth keeping an eye out for the deployment clasp if that floats your boat but I would just order a brown strap off the internet for around 20-30.

Wear it in good health biggrin

I've just put a brown (tobacco) Toshi on my Ti Seamaster and I'm very pleased with it. I was a bit worried the thickness of the strap would look wrong but it's fine.

Apologies Dave, yes smile

I was looking at a Tag Carrera / Grand Carrera, however at the weekend, at the PistonHeads black tie do a couple of very generous people (EHasler and Stuart) let me wear their Omegas for a couple of hours. As such, I'm now looking for a Speedmaster Broad Arrow.... thumbup

Superb watches, really like them, hence how pleased I am for you and your new purchase thumbup

Quite strangely, both were fairly compus mentus! The fools hehe

(Found the Omega sat a lot nicer on my wrist and just worked really well, so I was a happy bunny!).
