right after looking at the MTM extreme and falling for the UX. the Wife's given me the go ahead to look into getting one in the next few months. the reviews look great and being used as a daily watch that can withstand almost anything it ticks all my boxes

only issue I have is that I like to try before I buy and usually go to a shop watch to try on . but there is only 2 places I have found/people have pointed me towards in the UK who are dealers for Sinn in the UK and 1 is online

just thinking what to do next

and I wish there was a warning about this board
2 1/2 years ago I had a Casio watch.
now got:
Omega planet ocean
Tissot Touch
Tag carrera

presumably one of the ADs is Jura? They offer 30 day money back if you don't like it so you can try on at home don't they?

Have you contacted neil from Chronomaster yet?

I was in the same position a while back. Neil was happy for me to send the watch back if it wasn't for me. Fortunately, it was spot on. As I'm sure you'll find.

I'd have had to have paid for the postage back, but it's not that much.

I'd say get it from Neil, but that's just because I'd rather support the smaller business.

Bit of a shame he feels he needs to sell it, I suppose he doesn't have to be a watch nut by default so he'd rather have a nice caravan.

Is it actually his? I'd assume that things bought by the MOD remain their property.

Don't have one, but the watch would have to go for Germany for that I would have thought so maybe deal / speak to them direct.

If it were my money, Chronomaster were until recently the only AD and I've heard nothing but good things on watch forums.

Loads of info here if you haven't already sniffed it out : http://forums.watchuseek.com/forumdisplay.php?f=24...

Don't forget the pictures when it lands !

When it needs a battery it'll have to go to the factory, Neil could send it (there'd probably be a small surcharge to cover postage & insurance, time etc) or you could deal with Sinn direct - I've heard that they are easy to deal with but perhaps not as quick to update you as some. Either way I don't think it'll break the bank but I'd expect the same delays as for an automatic being serviced - 6-10 weeks at a guesstimate.

i'm going to email Neil at Chronomaster as there is no UX on his website so going to ask if he has any, if not time etc...

shall report back when I know more thumbup

to addd a few more questions

SS strap or Silicone? Most of my watches are SS

also theres more choice

SINN UX
SINN SDR
SINN GSG9

reading about the GSG is thats it's used by the elite German law enforcement units. over kill for me

Whichever you fancy really, bear in mind the tegiment (case hardening) is done on the bezel only of the UX and UX SDR, but it is the entire case, bezel and crown on the UX S.
The GSG9 is/was a limited run I think anyway.

If you buy with bracelet and add a rubber the total is £1220; if you buy with rubber and add bracelet the total is £1290 - so if you think you'll have both anyway get the bracelet first and save yourself £70.

If resale is a consideration take into account that the rubber has to be cut to size, so when/if selling on a potential purchaser may have to get a new rubber strap. Having said that, I find the rubber extremely comfortable and it holds the watch better on my wrist (doesn't 'flop' around as much as on a bracelet).

If you're on the cusp of acceptability with regards to cost then the rubber would be fine, you can always try NATO/Toshi etc anyway if you fancy a change later on.

HTH.

ETA - Neil has them here - http://www.chronomaster.co.uk/sinn_u_series.htm about 2/3rds the way down.

Never had a UX but have Sinn(ed) in the past and think you made a wise decision. Can't wait to see photos and hear some initial thoughts.
