I could do with some suggestions on a buying a watch for my brother. His requirement are a light weight, comfortable, slim digital watch.
I found a Swatch skin beat, which is 3.9mm deep, very light, digital and styled like a mechanical. He really liked it, the problem is they don't make them anymore. My only other idea so far is a classic G-shock, but he doesn't like the look of them.
Any recommendations for something similar?

It would seem that you can still get the swatch digitals. eg here:
http://www.squiggly.com/us/en/search-results/Swatc...

But that is the only place I can find that still has them.

What about those 'liquid ink' watches?

also comes in silver.

the funny thing is, these watches that were considered the antithesis of watchmaking (£20 casios) until recently are now very trendy indeed hehe

If you're on a shoe string, look for 'Casio Film Watch'. Skinnier than Kate Moss and they never sold well so they're as cheap as chips.

I had one a while back and lost it during a move, you don't know you're wearing them.

That's been on my want list for a while, they're 150 quid-ish though.

This :

Is pure geek-chic on a budget, around 60 quid. Search for Citizen Ani-Digi. I think they are all new old stock now though.

While I'm at it, there's this :

Look for 'Casio Poptone' or 'Casio Tetris / Puzzle', again I think it's all new old stock on those also.

What about this?

Cheap and cheerful, about as slim as they get and has retro cool.

No, that's people who are trying to look as if they are 'retro-cool' without putting any effort in. You have to look beyond page 67 of the Argos catalogue.

Bit O/T, but there isn't really a digital watch thread on the go.

I just stumbled upon the Seiko Final Fantasy watch :

The one on the left was made, the one on the right was never released.

I'd love one.
