As the title says really.

Wandering what the PH collective think on the price. It is in A1 condition, and is up for £2800. I am REALLY tempted, just wandeing if it is madness and overpriced? Or is it ok and needs to be purchased?

Cheers

My initial reaction was that was way too much.

So I just checked on TZ UK & the last two I found that were sold (admittedly in 2004) went for circa £1,200

I've been watching a few on eBay recently (there is one on there now) and the two I watched (both finished within the last month) went fror £2350 & £2200 I think...

They were minters. smile

ETA Here is the one on eBay.

Oh and one of the ones I watched is still in 'Completed Listings' and went for £2503. smile

I do love them, but it's effectively paying an extra £1K for a different dial. I know that's the point of a limited edition, but even so. On the plus side, if you buy one for the ebay prices, then you should get that back easily enough if you decide to move it on. £2,800 seems high though.

I really wish I hadn't seen this was offered one by a dealer when they first came out at list price but decided not worth it as didn't like the watch and therefore if didn't appreciate would be stuck with a watch I didn't like. Can't believe they've made it up to this price point!
That said if you like it and the cash is expendable then go for it but my money would be going somewhere a bit higher quality for that price. Whatever you choose hope you don't regret it.

Its a moonwatch with snooopy on it, surely a reason not to buy at all.

The ebay one is the one that is being offered to me at £2800…
I called the seller (it’s a shop in Norwich) and asked for a ‘buy it now’ price. They said £2800 and not a penny less to take it straight away.

I am watching the auction and will bid in. Thought £2800 was steep, just wanted to be sure. Reckon £2000 dead is about as much as id want to pay for it really, and even that is high.

I'd say that was a pretty speculative price based on what the other two finished at. IMO at least....

Great watch but I'm glad i only paid 1300 quid for mine when it was new. I've seen several go on ebay recently for 2500 quid ish and have now stopped wearing mine every day as they seem to be getting quite collectable. I bought a seiko monster to use and abuse everyday instead.

Nope, i didnt get it in the end.

I was watching it till the end and was ready to put a bid in at the last minute, but the price went up like crazy right at the end. my upper budget was £2500, and i wasnt ready to go further. Guess i'll have to wait for the next one whenever it comes up...

I'd like one, but I'm not paying that much more than a 'standard' Speedie Pro.
Very nice they are though! thumbup

The Omega shop in Burlington Arcade has some fine and rare Speedmasters, one of which is a Snoopy. " How much ?" I enquired. "£6000" came the reply. He said it with a straight face.
