Hi Guys

My friend's Dad is thinking of selling his 1990s Omega De Ville, which he has only worn once and is as new. He has asked for advice as to where the best place would be to get it valued, and then sold.

It is similar to this one. (It's not this actual watch - this is not a thinly disguised advert smile )

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/OMEGA-DEVILLE-GENTS-18K-STAI...

It appears to be quartz and bi-metal (not sure if it is gold). It has the box and all papers.

Although I am interested in watches, nowhere immediately sprang to mind, other than ebay or somewhere like www.chronomaster.co.uk

I am based in Edinburgh. Any ideas of where I can go - or any idea of what it is worth?

Cheers

http://www.blowers-jewellers.co.uk/ would probably take it but who knows what they'd offer.

Sadly quartz versions don't go for a lot. With recent high gold prices any 18kt omega seems to being snapped up for the gold and I fear that a lot of collectable ones from 40-60's may be broken up for the gold alone.
