Just ordered one of those, will see what it's like, seems a bargain to me.

I bought one of these a couple of weeks ago. I really like it.

As cheap watches go, I do like those Sekondas. It's not just that model. There are loads where, let's face it, they're stealing design cues from other more desirable watches. (And let's face it, they aren't the only ones doing it.)

I have looked at those quite a few times and keep thinking they are very nice for the money.

If you're really, really wanting a cheap automatic, I've bought 3 sub-£20 Chinese automatics since starting this thread and all operate fine. Although you need to wind them up manually so they keep going overnight (unlike the Seiko 5), and while they can look nice at a glance they tend to have way too many useless dials and nonsensical design details so won't fit your classic/plain criteria. Plus compared a Seiko 5 they're massive.

I like that a lot - I don’t have a watch .... the Mrs has a nice Omega for her 35th ... but I’ve an Xmas party to go to and that would work a treat.

£10-22 what’s not to like.

I'm slightly disappointed with the quality of the 'leather' but overall it's decent for the price, I can't complain really.

Speaking of military-style watches, what about this?

The 'infantry' branding puts me right off, but it's certainly cheap!

I had one of the Timex dual-time models with a sand-coloured strap for a tour in Afghanistan and it was perfect. Timex may not be the most covet-able of brands but they makea decent, cheap and effective product.

Prefer the latter, more classy. Leather straps tend to rot/fall apart if exposed to water etc.

Yeah, it's cheap and you won't care if you smash it against something while staggering home after the office Christmas party!

Nice looker, although don't know how good they are. I recognise the brand name, though.

Here's the complete list of Gigandets if anyone is interested. I think they're doing a Sekonda? https://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=as_li_ss_tl?srs=189...

Some of them look pretty decent for the money. Plenty to choose from anyway!

mines arrived at last.

well pleased with it, nicely made, although it's a little smaller than i'm used to.

still a nice watch for wearing to work.

anyone got any ideas how to stop the second hand so i can set the time accuratly on it, or do i have to let the thing run flat to do that?

cheers
