Just noticed that the above mentioned site “greatwatches.co.uk” still has stock of these. I quite fancy one but can anyone advise what they ended up paying in VAT/duty/fees please?

I really want to know too. I've never bought something internationally.. their shipping faq page suggests you pay no extra charges and they;ve sent many watches to the UK in the past. they send the bare watch in a padded envelope (no manual) for free delivery or in it's box + manual for an extra £7.

i cant really see any other watch that looks like that and is a diver watch for that price.

I think I expected Sekondas to be more expensive. I know it's a budget brand but the quality always seemed pretty decent.

I recently bought a miband2 to replace my second original miband.

Utter bargain for £24, but the 3 is due to be announced in the next week or two. (That always happens to me!)

Cheers, the bracelet does feel cheap in your hand, but not when it's on, if that makes sense.

We have a miband1 and a miband2 at home, both have been super for the money you pay and still going strong. Got the first one about two and half years ago now. Given the wearers are aged 8 and 6 I think that's very good going!
The 3 looks like it will be good too.

In watch news, I ended up with a forum favourite Seiko 5 in the end (SNK807K2). I intended to keep it at the office and wear it at work, but I liked it too much and wear it all the time. I bought a metal bracelet to go with it but prefer the nato style at the moment.

My first 1 dropped in to the depths of an engine bay when it fell out of a cheap replacement band. The 2nd one is still fine (got it a few days before the 2 went on sale) just fancied the heartbeat thing.

For approximately 50% of the thread budget, allow me to present the one of the Casio MRW 200H range - which does go down to over 100ft (if not metres), as this owner states:

"I’ve taken the MRW200H on multiple dives to over 100 feet deep, and so far it’s no worse for wear." - you can read about that here:

In addition, there is good variety in face design and colour availability. My thoughts after a few months of ownership:

- good points: inexpensive, lightweight, very good time keeping, bezel actually rotates

- not so good: lume poor, 'glass' is plastic and has suffered some micro-pitting from using air powered tools in an industrial environment, bezel actually rotates in both directions

Summary: I'd be more than happy to spent an extra few £ more on the same watch if it had strong lume and better glass; otherwise, I'm happy, especially as I paid under £17 from an eBay sports equipment seller seller rather than the £25 they're at on Amazon!

Coincidentally I bought one of those (albeit a black one) as I needed something to wear for diving. My son was doing his open water qualification and I'd booked a dive with him. I bought it from Amazon as I needed it quickly - couldn't find my other cheap Casio.
