Just a bog-standard Vyper here. And I'm pretty sure the OP was on about "watches" actually worn diving, not pointless watchmaker cock-waving.
Hmmm, I know a few sat divers in the oil industry who wear rolex, doxa, omega etc whilst "at work".LukeBird said:
There's a chap over on TZ who posted a couple of pics of him on deep dives (he's a professional!) one at 150m wearing a Seamaster Bond and one at 50m with a Sea Dweller.
Made for a purpose and used for it!
Yes, most divers watches won't be used for that I know...
... and then there's me. Made for a purpose and used for it!

My watch, says 600m on the front, but I still run for a cloth when I splash it when washing up.

Often I understand the military were using 100% O2 at relatively low depths, but of course they can go over PPO2 levels above 2.2 or more where we mortals rarely exceed 1.6. This gives them a lot more flexibility in the planning.
I never did the O2 stuff, but the courses were run in parallel so you'd see them setting off, I think they were keeping it between 6 and 9 meters if memory serves. The guys doing it were GIGN but very unassuming chaps who were more than happy to have a few beers with a boring old squaddy like myself. Batteryboy said:
All very interesting. I'll post up some more pics later.
Please do - they're very good - I was lucky enough to be able to dive quite a bit in the Red Sea which was fantastic, we used to spear fish and cook 'em up on the beach at night. Much better than the Rhone or Toulon harbour anyway.Batteryboy said:
Love the photos.Did you see any giant catfish when diving? Didn't see any in the slideshow, even though there were some cool fish there
Here's some from the Maldives
These were taken with a very cheap Fuji F30 and housing, plus a strobe. Of course now we are in the age of the cheap 10+Mega pixel cameras, image quality will be a lot better in the future.
I'm no Jack Custard that's for sure.

This is a bit of both: has way more functions that I would ever use as a snorkeller, but useful other bits that I do use. Depth gauge is very accurate, and I can see how long and how deep I went at certain points. I'm sure there's more but I only got it on Friday, and I need to read more of the manual!
