That would be £1k for the watch then and £19k for the diamonds?

I could make you a £30k donut if you wanted.

Cup cakes are in these days. Imagine a blinged up cup cake with ruby-based cream topping and emerald and sapphire sprinkles!!

Serious answer: Although a mate has just bought a brand-new black dial SS Daytona for £6150 at Heathrow duty free (there's quite a nice story behind how he ended up with it) and despite how lovely it is, I'd buy a vintage Sub and an IWC instead. I'm sure Blowers/SWC would do a good deal if you were buying 2 watches.

If I came to spend £6k+ on a watch I reckon I'd have most things in my collection that I'd want; so yeah, why not?!
If I were to be given £6k now it would be an entirely different outcome. smile

Yes, at weddings but the sort of bride who has cup cakes at weddings probably marries a man who aspires to own that AP.

So, are AP good, or form over function? They're certainly expensive in a 'Rolex is kinda cheap' way....

Bobby George gives a big thumbs up to the AP:

I hate to say it, but if I had to spend £7-8k on one watch it'd be either a very predictable, very pedestrian choice like a Great White Sea Dweller

(TZ)

or maybe just something a bit off the beaten track like a Patek Philipe Nautilus.

As I'm lucky enougfh to already have a GO Sport Evo, I'd go for a Dornbluth 99.1 & maybe a nice vintage Speedy with the change

This is no ordinary Brietling, it is the Chronomat B01, the first Brietling with an in-house movement.

First of the current incarnation of the company, perhaps. The original Breitling company made in-house movements - they were part of the group that produced the first automatic chronograph movement, in collaboration with Heuer, Hamilton and Dubois Depraz.

Its not really very pretty is it that Breitling ...
