If you had the money for a Daytona - what WOULD you buy?
Discussion
I've got a steel black face Daytona that I have had for ten years....I bought the IWC Power Reserve automatic as a 40th birthday present to myself a couple of years ago. They are both lovely watches and I tend to wear them for a couple of weeks at a time each rather than keeping one for special occasions.
I really liked this version of the IWC but it's over £10k as it's white gold

Nah, just cannot 'get' with Brietling, Ebel or Tag... Contentious, I know, but just not Special enough!
This is no ordinary Brietling, it is the Chronomat B01, the first Brietling with an in-house movement. Its not really very pretty is it that Breitling ...
I don't 'get' IWC; they look like kiddies Timex watches.

You know what I'm going to ask now don't you Any pics?
thats the re-issue, mine is similar but without the extra text and a bit older looking, date at 4 instead of 6 ...plexiglass rather than sapphire etc ...I will take some pics when I get chance and host them somewhere

Cheers, That one in the link appears to have a rounder case, Looks absolutely fantastic. You have excellent taste sir.
Must buy a lottery ticket
thanks - I like it, it was born the same year as myself, and (arguably) the first and best auto chrono movement ...nice n simple, and discreetMust buy a lottery ticket
...no need to wait for a lottery win though - if you can find one of the originals, they usually change hands for £2 to £2.5K depending on condition ...of course, its just finding one of the 2000 or so, 40 years later, thats still in good nick !

It's a completely different modelthe "Striking 10" (what I posted a link to) is near as dammit a re-issue of the original 1969 "el primero" or "the first" ...well they were announced late 1969...likely 1970 before mass availability....

I am/was tempted by the Vintage by would actually prefer one of the originals like you have.
