Rolex are - or rather were - the watch to choose for the professional outdoor man; tough, reliable, everlasting. Rather like a Nikon camera spares are available from the year dot and their reputation was well deserved. But sadly, it seems to me that the Rolex advertising bandwagon has created somewhat of a monster, with the world and its dog queueing up to all look the same. As the founder, president and sole member of the Anti-Lemming Society I have tried them on but somehow they aren't me. I wear an IWC which seems less in your face, quieter, but which, from the cognoscenti, draws murmured compliments. No, I've nothing against Rolexes per se, just against a few of the people I know who wear them and to me give the watch the wrong image.

Too much text and not enough piccies for my liking...
Nice piccie of the 'Newt Suit', but how you'd read your watch whilst wearing it I don't know. They're not used anymore though, replaced by ROVs.I didn't go out looking to buy a Rolex but came back with one a few years ago!
It's a very simple design but I love it. It's a stainless steel Lady Datejust with a silver face. It does have a diamond bezel but it's curiously understated and despite wearing it every day (I refuse to be precious about a watch and keep it stored in its box all the time) barely anyone notices it.
I've found it very robust too - only once breaking the face when it was dropped from a fair height onto a tiled floor in a hotel bathroom.
It is just a watch though. Bought it because I like it!
Can't get a clear picture of it using my blackberry but - basically this watch without the mother of pearl face.
Edited as finally got an almost clear picture.
