Can anyone recommend an audio installer in or near Cambridge?

I'm looking to swap the head unit in my car and install a small sub-woofer. I have the components already, just need someone to help with the fitting.

I'm aware of CBS / Cambridge Car Audio in Horningsea but their rates are north of £80ph. Something a bit cheaper would be nice.

Anyone used Cambourne Autoworx?

If you’re willing to travel 90 minutes then I highly recommend Brian Car Sounds and Security in Croydon. Give his dad a call. Much more reasonable. His father was in the car audio game in the 80’s and son took over. Family run. Friendly guys. Knowledgable and above all reasonable.

It's a Lotus Exige. There are a couple of 'how to' guides on The Lotus Forums for what I'm trying to do and I am trying to pluck up the courage to do it myself. But I just don't really have the tools (or the confidence) to go drilling the passenger footwell to route a cable from fuse box which is what's needed.

Thanks for the recommendation. I'm always happier going somewhere recommended rather than a random local place but Croydon is quite a way away from Cambridge. If I can't find anything closer in the next couple of days I'll certainly consider taking a trip to S London.

You've got an elise you want to upgrade the audio, don't want to pay an expert £80ph, but don't want to drill stuff yourself?

Do you realise how daft that sounds? you can afford an elise, pay a professional

No I wasn't aware that anything I wrote sounds daft.
I fully intend to pay a professional, that's why I posted my original question.
Yes I can afford £80ph, it won't bankrupt me, but I don't know anything about that particular firm - they may be 'expert', as you've assumed, or they may do a terrible job. I don't know. Hence I'm looking for personal recommendations.

I can fully recommend CBS / Cambridge Car Audio.

They maybe expensive (in your opinion), they've done a one or two things for free for me and only charged me £20 to take my old stereo out and reinstall the original Porsche PCM when I sold my car.

If there quality wasn't so good they wouldn't have likes of Shmee250 and plenty or Porsche, Ferrari & Lamborghini owners going in to them for Full Audison & Nertz system.

If you go over there and look at their Demo Mustang you'll see they really know what they are doing.

As the saying goes... you get what you pay for & buy cheap buy twice
