So when is this happening then? I'm up for it

What about the pub by Milton Keynes Marina on the canal. You can sit out there and admire the motors (and the boats if they take your fancy)
Peartree Bridge? I've never been there Greg, what's it like? It sounds like a perfect location!

Peartree Bridge Marina? My mate has had his car keyed there twice now.

I've heard of cars being vandalised up there too, but I've never been there myself, so have no idea what it's like.

Shall we stick with The Cross Keys then, or The Barge?

You're saying The Barge is better, but the car park is shielded from the pub, whereas The Cross Keys has just been taken over by new management and you can see the car park from the pub.

(I know which one I'm veering towards wink )

Cross Keys is no problem for me. Both a walking distance for me.

What night are people thinking?

OK I'm back!!

The Cross Keys in Woolstone looks the best. There's a garden with a car park and you can see the cars from the pub.

I got talking to a very nice local who said The Cross Keys is a better pub than The Barge, but I think Tuesdays is quiz night. I'll give them a ring, find out and report back.

In the name of research I may need to do another recce of the area one evening (with a proper map 'n all), just to make sure, so if anyone wants to join me...
I used to work at Cross keys
Did ya!??

And what would your expert opinion be? It's recently been taken over according to the nice man (Paul) I was speaking to.
Oh my god this is getting to close for comfort!

I used to drink a lot in the Cross Keys. I presume you were speaking to 'Chelsea' Paul as he spends his life there.

Diane when did you work there?
I was 22, so many years ago, 11 infact hehe

Was living with parentals for a year in Bedford and Dad was running Cross keys, and got me a job in the kitchen

I've been talking to some people today, and it seems like Tuesday 21st is the best night for the majority, but that means The Cross Keys is out of the game because they have Quiz Night on Tuesdays.

The only other pub I can think of that is nice and where I wouldn't be worried about parking the cars is in The Hare & Hounds Ledburn, near Leighton Buzzard. I can certainly vouch for the food and it's a nice friendly pub.

It means you get more of a drive to the pub, but I see that as a good thing!. biggrin

Did you have a look at the pub in Woughton on the Green called, confusingly, Ye Olde Swan?
