I can't help you with Bletchley, but I like the Bekash in Stony Stratford http://www.onionbhaji.co.uk/restaurants/bekash8.ht...

The Passage to India, also in Stony is supposed to be one of the best in Milton Keynes http://www.onionbhaji.co.uk/restaurants/passagetoi...

Mysore in Newport Pagnell is nice as well, and consistently wins awards http://www.mkweb.co.uk/restaurants/home.asp?avgrat...

None of them are much to write home about decor wise.

Or there's the Jaipur http://www.jaipur.co.uk/ I've never been there, but it looks impressive.

Other than that, try here : http://www.mkweb.co.uk/restaurants/home.asp?order=...

I'd steer away from the spice lounge unless you enjoy overly loud live music while you eat dinner. The food there is nice though.

I've been there twice and service was patchy the second time, both times it was overly loud, to a point where you found yourself shouting to the people you were with.

Can't really help with anywhere near Bletchley though,

Jiapur is great, it's expensive though.

I give the thumbs up to one of the ones in Stony Stratford too, but can't remember the name of it.

I would avoid Bletchley but there is a traditional Curry House on Duncholm Street called Rose of India.

Plenty of them about down the High Street too...

Fury, If you go to Bletchley and head near Water Eaton side keep an eye out, theres a Pro Street Cortina parked roadside some nights.

Milton Keynes is getting clogged up with Drag Racers!

I should of finished that sentance...

I would avoid Bletchley as there are much better Curry Houses (IMO) around Milton Keynes.

Sorry if any offence caused!

I've only eaten in The Spice Lounge once (about four years ago). The food was OK but not brilliant and the place gets absolutely rammed by clubbers at the weekend because they have "live entertainment" (I use the word entertainment very loosely because the acts are normally middle aged mums wearing dresses that are two sizes too small and can't sing).

Ok, sounds like I need to fill the spaces a little.

Couple of us are meeting another mate to go for a curry.

We are coming up from Aylesbury, and he is coming from Wellingboro.

Can you name a good curry house in a nice area thats halfway for both of us ?

One of the best in Milton Keynes as far as i am concerned is Passage to India in Stony Stratford.

It's cheap, great food and a real nice area.

Bekash, yes. Mysore, yes. Spice Lounge, No No No!!!!!!!

Now I'm a curry veteran of what must be 1000 Curries in 300 different restuarants, the Spice Lounge is by so far the worst in beggars belief! The Food is crap, probably microwaved - you get a curry as 'good' in a pub, seriously (in fact much better if you go to the Broughton on a Wednesday...). I even took camphoto's of the watery residue at the bottom of the bowls. The menu is very limited. Serice was slow, but that's probably due to their workload. The prices are some of the highest around. The music is too loud to have a conversation with anyone but the person next to you (someone must've missed the point that eating is a conversive event for social animals like humans). The seats are very hard. The tables are cramped. There aren't even any table cloths FFS! And they 'production line' you - get you seated, fed and paid up as fast as possible.

And yet the place was packed! Never have I seen such undeserved business. Somesort of conspiracy? The crime is all the decent curry houses I know that struggle not to be half-empty. It must've been filled with people who have no idea what a decent curry is about. The MK hauty tauty clientelle... all style and no substance.

I wrote a scathing review for the MK curry club.

Only total mindless drones enjoy this place. AVOID!
