Well, today was fantastic! Absolutely amazing to have thousands of bhp roll past your feet at a great many rpm "warming tyres"! winkcloud9

Thumbs up to everyone at Lola for turning out today!! PLEEEEASEE do it again!

We ended up leaving the house late, and turned down Cowper Road just as they shut the ring road. parked, and to the parade route in about 2 minutes! biggrin

We were probably not stood too far away from you tonyvid, just opposite the junction up to Dominoes. Glad to see that this event was not Health & Safety'd out, as we could stand on the ring road with no problems.

Anyway, here's what I got, they went round far too quick for my camera, and a bit too closely spaced for my liking. I missed some shots of Surtees in the Mk3, which was the main one I was after. frown

So, please enjoy...

World-championship winners in town, you say???

The obligatory Police escort..

A proper parade..

My only one of Surtees frown Watching the speed limit though!! Good lad!

Nice wave!

Out of focus frown

Wow

The man himself!

Again, top top marks to Lola for asking to do this. It's not beyond the realms of imagination to be flattly refused this in this day and age of H&S shiiitte! rofl

Cheers,
Andy

P.S. The local paper, The Hunts Post has a story up already... also asking for those who enjoyed the day to show their support for one every year!!! biggrinbiggrin

Got a few pictures & HDR'd a couple, I was trying to recreate the old racing pictures you got in the 70's of the blurry overexposed cars in action.

Didn't quite get the results I was after but I thought I'd add them as well.

Ewww, that's not good.

Has anyone seen any LookEast/Anglia coverage of the parade? - I saw nothing which seems an odd thing for them to miss?

Odd, I wonder if they ditched it after that fatal prang in Bedford that seemed to be two stolen cars road racing....
