Tracing someone in Bishop's Stortford - help please

I hope someone can help me here. My parents have managed to lose the address of one of their friends and want to send their annual xmas card. The couple they are looking to trace have sent them an xmas card already and have written a short note hoping that all is well as they have not heard from my parents for a while now - basically my mum and dad missed sending an anniversary card or something and the other couple want to know they are OK.

All I know is that their names are Leonard and Joan Deex and they live in or very near to Bishop's Stortford.

I have tried the BT web site and no Deex's come up in that area, only 1 for St Albans which I know is not them. They also don't come up on the 192.com site either, unless I'm being a knob whilst using these facilities

The only current option is a 2+ hour drive to the local council office in Bishop's Stortford to view the voters register, something my 76 year old father is not really capable of.

If anyone can provide a contact number or address it would be much appreciated and allow two old couples to stay in contact with each other in their twilight years.

Thanks Stacey, at least that link worked somewhat better than my last attempt with 192.com. It still does not bring up the details of the specific couple I am looking for in either it's "free" or "premium" section. This is what is frustrating as we know they are alive (xmas card arrived at my parent's house a week ago) and they have lived in Bishop's Stortford for at least 3 years so they are on the electoral role.

the number for the council offices here in Stortford is 01279 655261, have looked in the local phone book & no listings for that name, must be ex directory. Sorry couldn't be any more help!

Yes they did, type Deex into name search and they pop up at about 84/85 on the premium section.

half my family live in Stortford with the surname Brown.
