good routes near Cambridge

Go to newmarket the back way via six mile bottom and brinkley, and then back to cambridge, through burwell and the swaffhams (or, if you're strapped for time jump on the A14 at newmarket and head back to Cambs that way...)

The road from Kimbolton to Rushden B645, is, as yet, camera free and has some lovely wide sweeping bends and a few testing ones. It is possible to travel at well above the national average (SO I'M TOLD!!!!)
As an additional, if you can get to Bedford then travel from Bedford to Kimbolton on the B660, that road has some very nice twisty bit to test your mettle.

But do be careful on the fen roads, they may look flat but believe me they tend to sink and rise in places, and you will be pushed to see it until its to late, also the ditches are deeper than they look. But good fun to be had
another good route that i tend to do alot is out towards wimpole on the A1198 from A14 then A603 to Cambridge,

indeed, I lost my chin spoiler in a shower of sparks when I bottomed out on what looked like a flat road.JonathanT said:
