Simple. Buy the Sabre 27.
If it were me I'd probably go for the Vega as it's a very well respected class and goes well, however I susspect that it will be a bit small below compared to the Achilles. That said, teh Achilles includes a swinging mooring in Abersoch...if that's "for good" then that is a major running cost that you can simply forget.

Hi Rick know point in asking me....
8k of work done on the Achilles and new Fresh water cooled Yanmar..Diesel cabin heating, shiny gelcoat. A original but well looked after boat...not suffered so called owners improvements.
If you want the high res pics send me a email, I can do some fresh ones she is sat outside my office.
The mooring is only any good if you want to keep it at Abersoch.

Aaaah - didn't realise you were Boatshed Andy Thanks for sending the survey through to me yesterday.
Would probably keep it at Abersoch this season, love the area and lived there until 3 years ago After that would probably move it a bit closer to home at Windermere.
Are you free next Wednesday for a viewing? Will happily look at the Achilles first and if all goes well it saves me a trip to Scotland to see the Albin.

What do the big Achilles sail like? Old man has a 24 and it's good fun, like a big (slow!) dinghy with reasonable room below for the length.
I have not sailed this one but it does have a decent forefoot so it looks like it my be half decent uphill in a seaway. Keel is fully faired in. Skeg rudder, interesting there is no P bracket but stern tube all original. They used to use them in for racing offshore and in Fastnet races in period.
I am 6ft and I have clear headroom through to forward bulkhead. Quite a decent amount of boat under the water.
Interesting cockpit layout with centre genny winch, ideal for short handed.
