Not mentioned in this article: the way that powerboat racers frequently end up p!ssing blood after races due to the pummelling their kidneys get, and the mild case of death that can result from minor mistakes...

That is a bad example as it is a drag boat doing 200+mph and a P1 powerboat does about 60mph apparently. Still not nice to crash but somewhat less severe. The pissing blood may still be relevant however.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ok5LH8RqrV4 just as an example...
I just want to reiterate what a mega prize this is, I recently went out with Neil Holmes in this boat at the Sports Rib and Boat show last weekend and it totally
blew me away - power sliding on the solent at 60 mph +, fast, not excessively bumpy but what a massive involuntary grin factor & adrenaline rush quickly followed by your thought train trying to work out which granny you could possibly sell to be able to buy one! The boat is built for speed and specifically the new P1 SuperStock race series but also can be used as a pleasure day boat, I would so love this prize!
I see Britcar racer Martin Short is signed up for the inaugural race meeting to be held in Jersey on 11 /12th June. It will be interesting to see how he gets on.
Good luck in the competition.
