I'm pretty sure I saw the BBMF Dakota flying very low over Braintree in Essex on Thursday afternoon (around 2.30pm). At least, I saw a Dakota all painted with invasion stripes and RAF roundels. Anybody have any ideas where it was going, and why?

It displayed down at Kemble Airshow today.

Here is a pic I took this afternoon in formation with one of the BBMF Spitfires

Amazing aircraft. I had the privilege of being allowed some stick time on one around the late 80,s and it was still in commercial operation :-)

Janes Aviation out of Blackpool. AMYJ and AMPZ both frames eventually ended up with Atlantique.

I love it, seen it twice in the last month or so. It did a flypast at Stoke Goldington Steam Rally (complete with music from The Battle of Britain and a wing waggle!). Spotted it again weekend before last flying up the Bristol Channel past Clevedon.

That's the one! It took me completely by surprise - not the sort of thing I expect to see outside of an airshow...
