In theory steam should give way to sail...............but I wouldn't have tried to test the theory out against a tanker!

Whatever happened to commonsense?

You might have right of way with a sail, but how can you possibly expect a tanker to stop or swerve.

Thank god no one was killed!

Not so in this case, exclusion zone cleary marked on all charts and a by-law in place giving commercial vessels in the Solent right of way.

^^^ This. What a prize tool. He's lucky he didn't get someone killed. There's no way I'd want to be in the water alongside a tanker doing God knows how many knots waiting to get sucked into the screw(s).
