Now confirmed for the weekend above - window of Thursday 17th to Tuesday 22nd and subject to weather, expected to be the Friday at 09.37. Not sure if that's at OSB or passing Round Tower though...

The Ark Royal launched in 1939 cost about 1.25 million pounds
And?
I'm not sure, because it was launched on the 13th April 1937. Commissioned on the 16th December 1938, and then sunk by one torpedo on the 10th November 1941.
Not a very good return on investment then smile
Her Swordfish helped sink Bismark so not a total waste of sunk costs.

Of course, this announcement about being weather dependent has prompted numerous comments about its sea and/or battle worthiness if it can't park in adverse weather.

Muppets. rolleyes

(Although, that does a disservice to Muppets. Perhaps anyone who makes such a comment should be forced to volunteer to be a dockside fender.)

I'd be concerned about this too. But only in the mindset one gets from living in a country where the "wrong type of snow" stops trains from running. laugh

OR a through deck cruiser as they were once euphemistically called.

Was it by the Russian navy?

Because it's going to be a tight squeeze on a flat calm day, least of all attempting to park it for the first time during a Force 8 or while you can't see from one side of the harbour to the other.
