Hardly.
The tin can wasn't invented until about 1810.
Proper Corned Beef is beef that is salted to preserve it. It's known as 'corned' owing to the fact that the size of the salt grains used approximates the size of a wheat grain. It is very different to the disgusting mush as is sold in cans!

A staple in Vietnam, part of the US legacy.Google it if you don't believe me.

We have Ocean and Bulwark which are a similar size.
Similar size to what? They're nothing like the size of QEC.

Anyway, Ocean decommisions next March, and in October 2017, the BBC's Newsnight reported that the Ministry of Defence was considering decommissioning Bulwark and Albion as part of a package of cost-cutting measures intended to mitigate the expense of the Royal Navy's two new aircraft carriers
They should be kept in reserve at say ten days readiness. They are ideal for humanitarian aid and disaster relief support.

AIM 9L....................wtf are you on about
Can I assume it's the L model that is causing the WTF rather than "what is an AIM-9L"?Despite adopting the ASRAAM the RAF still has large stock piles of AIM-9L (it never bought any newer versions) which are not yet "Life-Ex" (Life Expired, like a Use By date), which can replace the ASRAAM without any aircraft modifications should we ever "run out" of ASRAAMs in a war situation (unlikely but something we have a contingency plan for). We were still fitting the 9L model to Tornados when I went to Afghan in 2010 and only swapped to the ASRAAM in 2012 for Libya so while the 9L stocks are slowly being replaced once they become Life-Ex there is /was quite a stock-pile left the last time I dealt with them in late '14.

No we didn't.
There are plenty of images of Tornado F3/GR4's and, until we scrapped them, Harrier GR7/9's with AIM-9L's fitted in 2003 for Op Telic, although there are much fewer images after that time to be fair.
Also the Tornado GR4 was only cleared for ASRAAM use in very early 2011, just before Op Ellamy. It still used AIM-9L right up until that time, or maybe I hallucinated the armourers fitting them for practice when I was groundcrew on 617sqn in 2010.

You assumed we knew you were Navy 9L 's were fine, easy to assemble as long as a good tap on the joins gave another 1/2 turn on the screws to prevent the buggers from splitting apart on zooming away from the A/C
