An Osprey just flew right over the Teddington area - presumably it has just come from Farnborough or have we drafted in the USMC to help us out with the Olympics now...?
Fantastic beast...managed to get a ride in one a couple of years ago.
Very strange sensation of going up then going forward very quickly and struggling to stay upright (sat along the sides of the fuselage as you would in a chinook)- found myself looking at the open ramp at the back and thanking my lucky stars for the lapbelt...

Seen over Slough 10 minutes ago - they took one look at the place and poked off to the South West.

Saw it from my office in St. James too. Awesome bit of kit.

Saw it earlier crossed the M25 between j12 and 13 then looked like it had its rotors upright guess hovering over near Thorpe Park!

Sounds like they have been using the heliroutes, I bet its fun in one of them. I wonder if they crossed Heathrow to really freak everyone out?!

One has been leaving pretty much every morning then returning around 10/10.30am. Guessing they are using one of the 3 they have here at Farnborough to ferry people around?

I was looking to see if there was a thread about this, as I saw one fly over Ashford, Kent around 11am today.

I'd just woken up and was laid in bed looking out the window, when I heard a jet flying quite low. Then this 'thing' appeared behind the opposite house, and in my sleep-befuddled state, I could not for the life of me figure it out at first.

Due to the fact it has huge propellers compared to the size of the fuselage, I thought it was a Lancaster in a tight turn, then a Boeing Stearman Wingwalking varient, (not sure why I thought that!) but the jet noise confused the hell out of me. After a second or two of confusion, I got to the window and just as it disappeared behind some trees I realised it was a V-22.

Never seen one before, wonder why it was over my way?
