Check out Cangarda. It just shows what can be done. Who would have thought that basket case could come back as the gem she is today?

That looks very similar to the yacht in the 1927 Clara Bow silent film 'It'.

I think they used a real steam yacht in some of those sequences. I'd love to identify the actual vessel. It's a great filmed depiction of a small steam yacht. I'd say she dates from the 1890's or thereabouts. I'll need to search my 1928 Lloyd's Register of American Yachts to see what yachts of this vintage may have been located in Southern California at that time.

No update on the website of Thordis for a long time.

No update here for a long while, although I think work continues http://www.ceze.net/

These projects require masses of cash and quite some fortitude.

I also haven't seen an update on S130 for a long time.

Its not all bad mind, we have HSL102, MTB 102, MGB 81, Medusa and many more.

Two boats I have taken an interest in lately.

Rinansey aka Maluti was used by Bruce Campbell as a sales platform for the Albatross speedboats and then to live onboard on the Hamble when he worked at Fairey Marine (hence my interest)

I believe she is now in a yard in Viareggio and in a poor state of repair. She had twin diesel Gardners, one of which, by shafts and bevels gears ran the windlass! Marvellous!

Secondly

Kenelm Lee Guiness boat, which he used after he'd sold it(!) to go to Cocos looking for buried treasure with Malcolm Campbell onboard in 1926. Now lies in Scotland

Thanks, OP (and others). Some very pretty, graceful craft there, so different to many of today's rather showy offerings.

I recently join a facebook group, Grand Power Yachts of Yesteryear, seems to be run by a guy called Maunsel White who I assume to be the chap that started this thread.

I have recently been reading up on the yacht Amazon owned at one time by Arthur Lowe.

Stupid boy....

Now in Malta from what i can gather.

Rinansey can be seen in the 1957 film True as a Turtle.
