My friends in the salt and pepper pot house on the other side had a great photo of it blowing 45kts from the North, the sea was whipped up and the sky was very moody, i could make out Wayward but it wasn't great res.

Yep very lucky, although I have just given up my job of 11 years in the Shipyard which had a view straight across the water to St Mawes Castle! I still walk the dogs on the beach every day however, so not all bad.

Pendennis is doing brilliantly, they now employ over 460 staff and use plenty of local subbies on top of that too.

I'm now at Cockwells and I hope to follow in Pendennis' footsteps with growth and development, all be it on a smaller scale.

Moving a custom project up river.

Bits going back on, doesn't look 20' from this angle more like 12!
Rudder is still in paint and not attached.
Most people wanted me to leave the pulpit and guard rails off - but that's where the kids spend a lot of time - so needs is must.

Not the Puffin, but wanted to share this pic I took coming back up the Penryn river just before 5 this evening. Chilly but beautifully serene, so much so I dropped the revs and near enough idled back and it was dark when we hauled her out smile Was in our latest Duchy 21 and I must say I'm loving my new job!

Haven't done much for a while, but now just the new Flexiteek rubbing strake, boarding ladder, all round white and a second bow roller to fit and she will be finished.

She's looking fab.

In Cowes a little while back I saw what I think is a Cockwells Duchy 27, smashing looking boat.
Thank you, I think the 27 is great boat as they look perfectly proportioned and being semi displacement have a lovely solid feel at 20+kts - no slamming.

We do have a 27 in Cowes and a 35 and another 27 in Yarmouth, there are a few more Duchys and custom Motor Launches over in Lymington, Soton etc. Its a busy area for us! I will be back up there in a couple of weeks with one I'm sure.

Looks great - any interior shots?
Thank you. She doesn't have much of an interior at all - in fact its bare. I did fit a good sea toilet in the fwd locker and haven't done anything else apart from an annual lick of paint. The cabin is just where the beach kit and fishing rods live really, a jumble of body boards, wetsuits and bags etc.

Out and about...... It was super bright today, looks like my phone struggled with the glare of the new paint!

Just read the entire thread. Took me right back to the early 80s and Restronguet Sailing Club.

She's a lovely day boat, I'm insanely jealous!
Thanks, we had a great time with her, but times change and i wanted sailing and motoring, plus kids are older so can go further!

So now we tool about the Carrick Roads in Penny of Mylor...

The ubiquitous Westerly Centaur that ticks every box for us right now...

What power, still VP MD or something less boat-anchory?
This one has a Nanni 3.75HE which is a 21hp motor, its quite smooth and quiet which is nice.

Really loved the Cornish Puffin. If it's not too rude of me, what were the running costs per year? Moorings, maintenance, insurance, fuel etc.
No problem, I kept tabs on costs.....

Although it looks thorough some of the figures are approximate, should give you an idea though. From memory it was about 2 litres per hour at 4.5kts which seemed to be a happy speed to travel at.

She was a really lovely, simple and easy boat to own that's for sure.
