My brother's stuck in NZ (on his yacht, natch) and had one pass by quite close. Apparently they're impressive a mile away, at <50m it's terrifying! hehe

The last two legs of NZ/USA though. Not sure I would have wanted to be in one of the spectator boats at the top gate with USA hurtling towards you with NZ on the inside! https://youtu.be/ne-covgb3ao?t=9819

The speed didn't seem bad when they were up and running, but... frown

Impressive that it is to watch, it seems to be more disconnected from sailing and viewers as time goes on, with crews on these AC75s all now in little compartments and just a couple of heads poking up.

I guess it’s like F1 where we just see a helmet and get less of a sense of the human element of the sport. Everything is out of the wind and the grinders are all now tucked away.

Even back in 2013 and 2017 with the AC72 and AC50 boats we could see the crew much more and what was going on.

Just watching it all and whilst I love the technology and they are good looking boats the racing is crap (much like F1) it would be much better with close up racing that a Sunday on the solent gets you.

An improvement for Team GB but two further losses to the Kiwis.

Looking like NZ USA final.

Far from settled yet! I'd hardly call that a spoiler.

Is it on at a set U.K. time?

Seems like it’s difficult to have a time when most U.K. viewers have seen it as it’s on YouTube etc and people all watch it at completely different times.

It's shown live at 2am and then with full repeats at 9am and 10pm.

Cheers, since it’s going on for months, shall we agree not to discuss each day till after the morning repeat?

Otherwise we’re always going to be a day behind?
