A C17 has landed at Odiham today.
I believe that was a Canadian one this morning. When the RAF took a Chinook to bits, to ship it to Nepal to (not) help the earthquake relief effort, they flew it to Brize Norton, road-moved the strip-out kit and crew to Brize, and stripped it for transportation there.
So...
Does a Chinook fit into a C-17? And if so, why fk about detaching the crews up to Brize to prep a Chinook for movement as cargo, if the damned aeroplane that'd take it away can fit onto the Odiham runway?
Or quite possibly I've got some (maybe all) of my facts wrong, and nurse should be round to wipe my chin and supervise my meds anytime soon?

Really curious as to why Farnborough is being used for Military stuff.
It's not as though there aren't any military airfields locally that can be used, Odiham for example can take a C17 (did yesterday).
Not unhappy about it though, obviously.
Pretty sure it's only Odihams runway that can hold the C17, hence why they've been unloading the Chinooks on the Runway. I'm guessing the apron won't take the weight of a C-17. Long runway as well at Farnborough, hopefully this will be a sign of things to come with more military following.

There was even an RAF Shadow alongside the USAF C-17, nice to see mil at Farnborough.
