Looks like a tail rotor failure as he starts the pedal turn!!

I saw the video of this - they went high alpha, almost vertical, and then it all started to go wrong looked like they had no tail rotor but also a loss of power too.

Amazing to see the gunner jump out and walk away, pilot not so lucky though.

Tail rotor looks to be varying RPM going by camera shutter speed synchronisation.

I'm not a fan of Russian politics but wouldn't wish this on a crew or their families.
