We have a fire in the northern suburbs of Melbourne currently and have some aerial support for ground crews. The heli i circled had just picked up a load of water from the lake.

This Chinook is over from the USA for bushfire season and is helping out:

Does anyone know what’s going on here? I first noticed this a few months ago, however, wonder if it’s standard procedure to fly around Stavropol Krai? They seems to avoid flying over, and must add at least an hour to the flight time.

I’d think they are avoiding their own S30” air defence systems put their for the Ukraine war. They’ve already shown they aren’t competent enough to tell an airliner from a military aircraft.

Second RSAF A330 MRTT into East Midlands after leaving the 5 x Typhoons to go onto Waddington / Coningsby for Exercise Cobra Warrior Next week.

Twitter alive with news that the Indian AF is also sending 5 x Mirage 2000 , 2 x C-17 and a Il-78 over for the Exercise too.

I would have thought the Saudi Royals would be more accustomed to a better travel class than a Hercules.

Saw a pair of Apaches stalking a Cessna today. Followed it for several miles by eye while driving my bus. Text my mum who jumped on adsb to track it.

The Cessna can be hired for aerial photography so likely that.

That's disappointing, but explains the lack of explosions

There you are bobbing along at 85knts @2000ft below cloud cover because you couldn't afford to get instrument rated and suddenly youre staring down the barrel of two 30mm chain guns and countless Helifire missiles. Bad day at the flight club

Except you’re in the UK so probably unarmed.

The TV show slow horses used apaches for QRA in an episode. A typhoon from coningsby would get to London quicker.

Cargo flights, the usually arrive into BHX around 9pm each night

BHX always seems to have interesting cargo movements, last 2 days have seen AN-12 flights & we get 2x AN-26s moat days too
