Strange one. Lufthansa Cargo MD11 from Frankfurt to Chicago has turned back over Scotland.

Maybe he left the oven on?!
Maybe,
' Hans? You there mate?'
'Yes....Why? What?'
'Where are you?'
'Over Scotland. What's up?'
'Turn around and come back, we forgot these three pallets on the apron'
' FFS'

He’s home now after his sojourn to the Highlands. Maybe the pilot thinks his missus is up to no good, so he’s going to sneak back home, whilst she thinks he’s away for the weekend. Or maybe not.

It can't have been too serious, otherwise he would have put down at the nearest UK airport, so happy enough to return home.

Nice - good to see the old stuff still going strong - I saw (on ADSB and in the Air) and heard a FAF C160 Transall on Thursday - he preceded the Italian B767 down the country (albeit a bit slower).

Having a nosey the other night, I was randomly clicking on a few flights passing over UK, one was a KLM Cargo 747F, which was going to Campinas. As I couldn't think where this was, and knowing the Dutch had a few "colonies", instead of doing the sensible thing and googling it, I decided to follow the flight-path, which subsequently threw up this.

Seems like an RAF Typhoon from Lossiemouth is on his way South through France. I wonder where he will end up?

Edit: I think he refuelled from a Voyager mid English Channel.

Second edit: just dropped off ADSB heading into Orleans airbase. Quite a bit of activity in that area at the moment.

This has been knocking about the last couple of weeks doing what I assume is survey work?

Odd looking thing, quite a high pitched engine note.
