^D-FIPS^ - seems to be a para dropping aircraft, so I would guess some meat bombing practice?

Definitely survey work, photography for Google maps I read on a local spotters FB page. Can see the cameras in the pics here.

Already posted yesterday in the Karachi crash thread.

This was entirely expected after the Pakistan authorities admitted this the other week. It was just a case of how long the ban would be.

This is now over Bristol doing passes over the airport. Must be quite a fun gig at the moment for the crew!

The new paint job looks very... erm... non-RAF.

Not massively different from the old RAF transport scheme

Is there any significance to the 6 horizontal lines behind the door? I notice the grey ones have them as well.

Indeed - The transport fleet are all getting quite a lot of practise at the minute, probably more than usual and definitely more noticeable.

It was nice to see the E-3 circuit bashing at Ringway last week too.

Always welcome in my eyes - trouble is they are just out of range for me frown

There's a lot of activity over Norfolk and Suffolk this week, Ospreys, Apaches and C130's coming out of Mildenhall.

Are those two taking photos? There's currently a pair of F35s doing loops around Marham with a sneaky Shadow R1 circling at the same time.
There was also a fast jet making an absolute racket above Norwich at about 9am this morning!
