PIA 777 just coming into Manchester. Looks like although being banned for the next 6 months, the EASA have asked for consideration to be given to a limited number of repatriation flights, which I assume this is one of. Makes a mockery of the ban really doesn't it!

I wonder if they’ll get audited by the CAA inspectors?

You can imagine PIA sending out a request to get pilots for the flight. “Only genuine pilots with real licences to volounteer” etc

I find that when coming in they seem to be lower than other aircraft using the same approach, at least they look it to me. These are approaches from the southwest over Northwich.

They do seem lower, I grew up in Rudheath (parents still live there) and the house is right in line with the runway so get great views when they are landing over Cheshire rather than Manchester.

My workplace is just up the road from there (chemical place) and they come right over on those approaches.

Looks like an increasing number of stored BA narrow bodies are making their way back from Bournemouth, Glasgow and Madrid to Heathrow:

Don't see any new arrivals at Gatwick though.

Also noticeable how busy Ryanair have got over the last few days and it seems the Prestwick moneypit is almost back to full passenger operations, such as they are.

This just flew over. Aroused my curiosity as I’ve never heard of a police plane before, rather than a helicopter. Will a police plane be looking for a bad guy?

Edit - seems to be circling on the other side of the city, so maybe it is looking for a bad guy.

I've noticed this the last couple of days, especially tonight. I keep an eye over the north West and there have been loads of Ryanair going over.

They used to be more common Hampshire used to run an islander. These new aircraft have been stuck in a hangar for the last few years due to paperwork issues I believe but as of this year are now operational.

USAF Herc on a pleasant Monday evening vuelta espana out of Moron, followed by a couple of circuits and bumps at Rota (Cadiz). Seems to finally be heading home to bed.

Thanks for the info (I didn’t spot your reply on Saturday). Maybe it’ll be a more regular spot.

There’s a few of them now all based centrally so you may spot them a bit more.

Cheshire Police had a plane years ago before they had a helicopter. Some of these 'new' ones have been up around various parts of the country the last few weeks. Had one out of Doncaster circling over Cheshire a couple of weeks for an hour or so.
