Heared a very deep and loud turboprop type drone passing overhead Farnborough about 25 minutes ago. Unfortunately, there is too much overcast at the moment so it wasn't visible. I immediately thought that it must either be a C-13 Hercules or a big Antonov.

It turned out to be this -

Doing the rounds for Armed Forces Day presumably?

We had a Chinook buzz over Wiltshire surprisingly low and fast on Saturday, guys waving out the back. Then a Spitfire in the afternoon and a Dakota on Sunday.

And 360radar.co.uk but you need an account for them.
Thanks to this post I spent a couple of hours yesterday watching air traffic on adsb exchange. Some of the US stuff is very interesting - in particular seeing the police helicopters operate over some of the big cities (e.g. Los Angeles and Las Vegas).

I actually saw one last Thursday night around 20:30 for the first time ever. High up over Bicester but alas didn't have access to FR24.

Just spotted this, I think the altitude might be a bit off, unless the pilot is very very good smile

It's MLAT, may well be an incorrectly calculated (not reported) altitude.

Yeah the aircraft and registration were correct just the altitude was off.

FR24 showed it around 2,000ft all trip.

Was wondering what a Qatari A320 was doing over Suffolk operating a BA flight between Heathrow and Oslo, turns out they've been hired in as strikebreakers, presumably the short haul aircraft and crews have had little to do since the airspace was blockaded.

That (or another like it) is a fairly frequent traveller through the skies over the SE.

I call it the filling rattler.

I believe there was an openskys flight over Estonia by a Russian spy plane last week. These are pre-arranged and declared, so presumably, it had it`s transponders on.

Anyone track it?

There was one here a couple of weeks ago. Rather humorously they squawk 7007.

The Beech King-Air that is flying alongside P-51B 'Berlin Express' on its long over water ferry flight from the USA for its appearance at Flying Legends at the weekend has finally shown up on FR24........they took off from Iceland about 50 mins ago en-route to UK.

It will be the first time a 'Malcolm Hood' configured P-51B/C has been seen in UK skies since 1945 smile

There seems to be daily ones over the USA that are tweeted about and a lot over the Baltics for the recent Exercise.

Can anyone tell me what is currently doing circuits between Gloucester and Ross on Wye

I can tell you it's got a prop, it's loud and it's bloody annoying, mostly because I can only see the marker lights and can't make out the shape.

We've had UAVs or drones, military ones, fly through here in day light before and I wonder if this is someone practicing in the dark.
