Very noisy right over the top of the house. Well sounded like it. Thought it was as A400 but Antonov instead!
Still droning, just came over here.

Someone's drawing something, ahem, similar, over Glasgow in a BA 777 - https://www.flightradar24.com/BAW9120/26dc7b5a

It’s wrong! Definitely not from Jo’burg and definitely not that registration. Probably USAF out for a play in the NWMTA.

I have a flock of KC135 overhead at the moment(Suffolk), looks like they have been up over the north of Scotland this morning so are there some more B52s in the region?

I am sure that I read earlier about some B1's heading for Norway and that there would be KC135's up for that.

They've just started another reduction of the B1-B active fleet, with the first of 17 airframes being withdrawn from use and heading off to the boneyard in the desert for reclamation.
This will mean the B1-B fleet will be reduced down to 45 active airframes.

From my trip to The 'Yard in 2016, they will be a bit of a rare sight in the UK with so few left on the fleet

It was just gobsmacking quite how many aircraft are there, you have to get on a coach at the PIMA museum as the base is an active one, it trundles up and down while a grizzled ex-airforce chappie gives a brilliant and humourous talk about it all - you start by driving past about a mile of C130s!

Had a few nice views of it while it hung around the airport after take-off.

Shortly before that took-off, G-HUEY (UH-1) was out and about. Looking at their facebook page it was CAA test flight and inspection day.

I tracked its flight path from Ankara and it kept a steady route and altitude, so I don’t think that was a factor. There are also plenty of options for refuelling on the ground, so. I doubt AAR. One final point, Is this aircraft is even equipped for AAR. It doesn’t have a probe like an RAF Herc, so maybe the US system if anything?
